I just love this kind of photography, just look at all the amazing people and all the stories there are to tell about each one.
So peaceful! I love the way everyone's focused in some different direction: even people who might be facing the same general direction aren't actually focusing on the same things. And I love the human-interest distribution, which leads the eye all over the place: there are so many places to wander into in this image, and so many little snippets of stories to listen to. I love that, and to make it even better, I like that the fountain is a definite focal point, and yet it occupies so little of the image, it's that implication of the fountain and then the focus on the people that makes this so totally rich and fantastic. And yeah, I love it in black and white!
Wonderful composition. The large empty space in the lower left is balanced by the trio at the fountain. I like that this is non specific with no obvious identifiable landmarks. A nice universal image that could be anywhere in the western world.
I wonder what's with the folded arms. Is she cold? Have they had a row? did she really want to be somewhere else? The group in the foreground look so very happy in comparison. Fascinating!

This has both a spontaneous & a timeless quality to it. I don't see anything particularly contemporary in clothes or any other detail that would identify it as a photo taken this year - I could easily believe it was taken 50 years ago. It also has a very appealing balance to it - in terms of foreground & background, dark & light tones & overall composition. Fine work, as always, Tara (well, except when you violate the Sacred Rules of Composition)...
... when I INTENTIONALLY violate the Sacred Rules of Composition! LOL! Next time I do it, I'll dedicate the piece to you, my friend. :D

Yes, I love now the background people are so nicely delineated from the group in the foreground; ARE there sacred rules for anything? I assumed that they were just guidelines...LOL!
