Description
Near Bandon, Oregon on the Pacific Ocean, just north of the Coquille lighthouse. There's a lot of seaweed piled up in drifts on that beach, but apparently this one seemed about to attack. :)
Zoom is bigger, and has more personality.

Perhaps heweed on the seaweed !! Great shot Tara and quite funny.
I love coils of seaweed on the beach & often photograph them, but the dog adds a nice spark of life to this shot. I also like the long vertical format that parallels the waves & frames the shape pf the seaweed pile...
Of course he is attacking it! Can't you see it is the monster from the sea !! You were lucky he shaved you from a terrible death. Now for the picture. Beautiful. Nature provides us with such beauty. We are lucky to have people like you that do duch a fantastic job if capturing it and sharing it with us. Thank you.

It's so good that dog was there, keeping everyone safe. That dog clearly understands that somebody has to keep those sea-monsters in their place: I mean, what nerve they have, oozing up on shore to lurk and loiter and do whatever it is that vaguely-amorphous sea creatures do on beaches. This is super! I love how earnest the dog seems and how...well...lets face it, the seaweed looks adequately subdued. This is brilliantly seen!

Of course, I can see the horrible sea-weed dragon, just lurking on the beach waiting to pounce. The fierce and brave canine deserves a treat for such perfect diligence.
