Description
Captured back on 3/6/07, at the semi beautiful El Dorado Nature Center in Long Beach, California.
I thought this was an official bottle brush plant at first, but my research indicates a genuine bottle brush flower is crimson/red and not as tightly compact as these, and I could find no exception to that rule. These look more like pipe cleaners than they do bottle brushes. Any IDs or ideas out there?
And, more of my low resolution shots taken before I honed my photographic skills, beginning in late 2007. I really had to postwork these to bring them up to par.
A ZOOM would be highly advantageous.

Hi, I would say this one of the species of Wattle, an Australian native. Wattle has many types of species and although it looks familiar to me to what is flowering at the moment here in Australia, I suggest you look up Wattle. You are correct for it is not Bottlebrush. Hope this helps, Jan
It's not one I'm familiar with either, Harry, sorry to say. But your shots are superb and really show the features of this beauty very well. Good luck in your ID hunt!
Great work on these cool macro pics, Harry.

Well, your postwork worked a treat... very nicely done, Harry. They're beautiful.
Maybe they are used to clean medicine bottles :) Good work.
