the i8 saftey car is virtually identical in its looks but under the skin it has some race requirement differences these are - full FIA Approved Roll cage - Yes safety cars have been hit by race cars so its sensible - High performance treaded tires - Race interior not standard comfort interior - Recaro race seats - Full Led caution lighting on front and rear - Light bar with green passing light like the f1 SLS - and car to control radio which is standard in a Safety car - Lightened Body (the car still has a traditional Engine aswell as electric motor)
