The chamber pot was the first thing I noticed as well, could you just imagine using it in the middle of the night... or being woke by your roommate during it's use. This is an amazing look at what life was once like.

Once upon a time, I lived and worked in a hostel. If it looked like this, I'd probably still be there...speaking Czech--fluently--on top of it. What a shot! I've been away too long and I've got some catching up to do. This is a great place to start catching up. I love the crisp clarity of this and the idea that this is historical. We've made some amazing advancements in many areas of life, but we've lost detail and texture, and this shot is a reminder of that. Even the chamber pot and basin, which--by the way--those rims serve a purpose, since they were commonly used in not-so-private rooms. Don't ask how I know that! Really. Don't ask. This is super. It's so elegant.
