Beautiful light, colors, swirls, and stripes on this impressive plant, Harry.... nicely done.
I also love cannas; have dozens of them all over my yard. This foto is wonderful; really shows them off!!
Very great closeup and great lights also !
Harry, I slept way late this morning (for me, that is), and so I will do this session in 2 pieces, the other half later today or after midnight. Sorry! I slept uncharacteristically late, and I have to leave here in about 90 minutes. BUT! Let me get to the images, this time trying to catch up on earlier pieces that I've seen but not yet commented on... You've become one of the best artists here with large leave shots. They have wonderful "arrays," the way they fan out; and your work with light in these shots has been terrific. In fact, many of your 'leaf-bouquet' shots are as much about light as they are about the leaves. It's amazing how many different types of light you have here: Some of it flattens the leaves, some of it deepens them (in the leaves where the light illuminates the yellow stripes, making the leaves look like they're lit from within), some of it undulates all over the leaves. The leaves on the far left are so luminous---considering they're in shadow---they look like they're fit with fiberglass lighting. And the 'bouquet' (I know, it's a word normally saved for flowers but allow me, because it applies to your leaf shots) opens-up from the right and spills into the shot. You left space on the left to emphasize the 'spill' from the right. And the leaves criss-cross all over, making a complex dance. Another wonderful leaf-portrait, with wonderful energies; and I love the way the light brings out different personalities in each leaf. It's hard to compare a series to your flower series, but considering that leaves don't normally have the sumptuous glory of flowers, I'd say these are every bit as good in their own right. Wonderful and sumptuous work.
Is it really a beautiful leaf!
