Awwww.... what a beautiful photo of these cute, dear creatures. The most I ever see of them is unfortunately what's left of their spiny skin after being run over by wheeled vehicles. They are nocturnal so they can't be seen in the dark. I had a funny experience 1980. Coming out of a building at 22:00, I saw a hedgehog sitting right in front of the door, lapping beer from a turned over beer can. I took the can, poured out some beer behind a standpipe, then put on my leather gloves and lifted the small fellow to the safety behind the pipe. He looked up at me, then the puddle of beer, then me again. He got the idea - it was for him. He started lapping the beer again. He must have been quite drunk by the time he headed for home! :-)
