Cats are such amazing people! The ancient Egyptians revered them (and to this day, cats will remind us of that.) I was just doing a bit of research on ancient Egypt, and so it's a double treat to come across this image. I love the fact that in the ancient Egyptian world, the name for cat "Mau" was also the sound that cats make, thus transliterated, the ancient Egyptian word for cat is "Meow." They were such odd humans! But they adored animals, especially cats, and it was not only illegal to kill a cat, either on purpose or by accident, and the punishment for killing a cat was death. It was also illegal to export cats from ancient Egypt, and there are accounts of military campaigns to neighboring lands to rescue stolen cats of ancient Egyptian pedigree. Ah...the Egyptians. That has nothing to do with this image, but in looking at the look on this little, gray person's face, I can see how an ancient society could become so enamored with such little, furry things! This is a gorgeous shot, and so true of cats/kittens.
There's nothing cuter than a potted cat!
