I am trying to work out why there is a piano in a courthouse museum, they must have had some strange trials there hehe! Brings a whole new meaning to "Will you accompany me to the station sir?" As our police say, well used to say, they just read you your rights and cuff you, well I use the term "You" in the broader sense. Myself, I worked for them for 7 years as a civil staff jailer in a custody suite. You'll be amazed at the amount of leeway that gets me, even 34 years down the line, not that I break laws, but if I do do something that attracts their abstention, a quick mention that I was 02 mike tango usually gets them gone in minutes. The old school tie ethos is rife in that respect. Great layering here auntie.

Old courthouse, old piano, spirits hovering nearby. Superb layering gives this image a ghostly feeling as if past memories have overlaid each other through the years. The sheet music is a great touch and really adds to the overall feeling. I can imagine disembodied hands playing 19th music every midnight
I agree, the layering gives this the feeling of long life and many hands having experienced the feel of it...beautiful work!
Of course there would be a piano in a courthouse. They do more there than hang folk. There's weddings and such. I would bet my bottom dollar that's what it was used for. And... if it was the largest building in town, they may have had community gatherings there.
