Some sort of parasite as mentioned above, like mistletoe. What ever it does turn out to be it's a fantastic shot mate, and be careful around those Australian leaf birds, they can cause terrible injuries mate.

It is a seed pod and it will split open and hundreds of seeds will be dangling down! I t does not mean that it is a male palm tree!
