Description
Victoria Station in Manchester opened in 1844 and this is a map of the places served by the Lancs and Yorks railway..amazing to see the area covered by train services! then. When I used it in my youth ,it was LMS..London, Midland and Scottish. That was before the Beeching axe fell in the 60s.
Yesterday I went to visit it again..total reconstructon underway and in 2 years wll no doubt be marvellous. The facade is very fine and it is a listed building. The map above will be saved.
