Yup, the light rocks; you are SO good at that!! I had a treadle for a while, actually used it too. I was babysitting it for a friend and had to give it back. Part of me didn't want to, but the other part longed for a new one, the modern, newfangled kind that ran on electricity!! lol Got it as soon as the treadle went back to my friend!!
My grandmother had one of these. Didn't care for the electric ones. Nice angle and lighting.

OHH It is so beautiful. My mom had such one. when I was a child and so had my grandmorther. MY grandmother was sewing almost all her childrens clothes. She had 7 children.

A beautiful silhouette in form, light, and rich "interior" hues. I don't know if I can explain "interior" but I have a feeling you know what I mean. The hues glow in an interior way, with the glow that light gives in a protected intimate environments. I realized, this morning, that that's one of the elements of a number of your interior shots, they have a natural "interiority"...In your work with the hues and light, you make the scene feel caressed and embraced. And the light, above the treadle, is near saturated, a peak light; so it's a complete contrast: In spots, it dissolves the room. There's also a sweet bit of intense light under the wooden 'table' portion of the treadle. You've used an intimate crop too...Very soft and intimate, with touches of abstraction---ie, the shadows on the rug, the mullions (or whatever those vertical elements are) behind the treadle; things like that. I always thought "treadle" was a silly word until I learned that it came from "tread"...and these old treadles should feel like they're made for the feet (the 'tread' part) as much as anything else; so one should pay as much attention to that part as to the sewing part. And the space allotted to the under-region, here, makes the scene feel like it's all for the feet. Beautiful mix of interior shadow and enveloping creamy light.
