Harry, this is a nice capture with so many cool variations.
The original shot is lovely, with wonderful nuances of depth and light transmittal. Your different variations span the range of extremes, and the rainbow-hued one makes me think of the aftermath of a toxic explosion...I think if you see something like that your days might be numbered! And the last one is nuclear winter, right? Well done, Harry!
I love really the full of colors...on an other planet !!!
This is almost the way I do nebula!! Great colors!!!!!!!!!!
Marvellous set of variations mate.. The third is very impressive indeed. Top job Rob
Haven't done any cloud shots for a while...The original here is a real spectacle: Big swaths of mean gray-blues, mixed with those beautiful bursts of light-tinged "islands" (the popcorn clouds on the right---cumulus maybe? small colonies of cumulus's?) And mist flowing through it. A beautiful cloud capture. Your 1st variation---because of the grain and many edge lines---looks like an aerial view from a plane, with land forms cutting through the cloud cover. It's fascinating, and looks like something from those NASA topographical maps. Reflective, brooding hues. The next feels like clouds from another planet---filled with sulfur or copper or whatever clouds are filled with on other planets. It's very realistic, even though it's fantasy. And I like how you've dissolved whole portions of the original to make those big wide swaths. And the last one is either a microscopic image of a sample of pond water (maybe pond scum), or a view of a misty night on the moor, through a very dirty window...or some heavy duty mold culture seen against a deep mysterious sky. I think black and white was the right choice for this, as it allows the forms and contrasts to sing unimpeded. It's hard to know how you got this from the original---you're doing heavy transformation in this series. A really creative set with very fine detail in all the variations, and a first rate original to start with. Another fav. Harry it's nearly 10 AM, and I have to go. I'll come back for the 2d part of this session later. But I got a full 8 shots in---that's pretty fast, for me! A pleasure as always. And as always, many thank you's for your always thoughtful and very perceptive comments. They're always first rate, I always appreciate them. Hope you have a good day.
