This is so cool. Kind of looks like the old stripping pits here from when they were going after the Anthracite. Lots of them have been filled in though. There was some kind of reclamation project.
Beautiful image
wonderful
Amazing nature photo! Most excellent image, Mike! Bravo!
Mike, this is a very cool capture and I'm so glad you shared this up close view.
The millions of years this rock has seen, oh but the stories it could tell. If it weren't rock, but it is. Huh, I confused myself. Cool capture.
very interesting formations.. thanks for sharing.. also looks tough to scale for roped climbers.
Excellent photography.
Fantastic capture!
Nature is tenacious. I like the vegetation clinging to the sides. Interesting textures. Looks like the stone was scraped by something.
Geology sometimes fills me with awe and wonder. Nice shot Mike.

Beautiful rock shot, Mike!!!!
Great shot, Mike! Every time you post one of these photos of Beacon Rock, it makes me want to climb it again. My wife keeps suggesting it, too, so I guess one day soon we'll have to make the 2-1/2 hour drive and do so. Sure enjoying your posts!
This is cool. Wish there was something in the scene to give it perspective but, I guess you couldn't exactly magically insert something or someone, LOL.
Very cool shot Mike love how the plant life seems to grow on these rocks quite amazing really.
