Description
This is little Amélie - 6 months old next Tuesday. I took the pic at her christening this past Sunday.
I have not shared the news with my most of my friends on RR yet, but she was born with congenital ptosis. It means that the muscles that control the opening of the eyelids in her case is not present or developed. She has seen panels of pediatricians and of course many opthomologists and ended up at the "king of kings" surgeon. He will be operating both her eyes next week Wednesday, August 6th. He will be doing a procedure where they attach a silicone muscle from the eyelid to the muscle running across her forehead. By forcing the eyes to close, the brain then develops a new neuropath to use that muscle to blink and open and close her eyes.
I would like to ask all of you that pray to please pray for her and the surgeon and the rest of you to please send positive thoughts! As family we have been praying for her non-stop and feel very peaceful about the surgery.
