Description
Another in my series of insects aiming to become ancestors.
Soldier Beetles.
The fact is that they are easier to photograph when they are preoccupied, although some of them, like the Flesh Flies, are masters of the 'Wham, Bang Thankyou Mam' technique, and it is all over in a flash with the female left wondering what just exactly happened that was of any consequence.
Rather like some men I have known.

You do make me chuckle Andrea :0))) great capture.

More humping in the hedgerows! Super shot Andrea :)
Wonderful observation as always Andrea, you are the expert at observing and shooting insect hardcore action.
WONDERFUL CAPTURE
And here I thought they were wrestling. He seems to be working hard while she is nibbling on the flower. Like some women I've heard about. A stellar image.
LOL on your narrative, Andrea! Seems late in the summer for such hectic procreating activity. Would have thought that would have been done and youngsters have grown by now. Great shot, as always.
I love the claw like shape of the flowers.
Rather like some women I have known as well, the term "This ceiling needs painting springs to mind" No pleasing some folk I suppose. These are dreadful for this aren't they? We call them bonking beetles in London. most times I have encountered these they are at it, it's a wonder we are not knee deep in the things eh? There MUST be a large level of predation, stands to reason
Strange term that if your name is Roger eh? Hehe!
Amazing capture Andrea. God bless.
Great capture! (I think you set off a battle of the sexes with your comment! I'm going to sit on the sidelines and watch the hair fly! LOL)
These soldiers don't make war but love !!! lol

A fantastic capture Andrea and those yellow flowers look very unique unless they are not full opened!
