Talk about timing! I love this image, because of the light, and because of that writer's chair. The image here has nothing to do with what I'm listening to, and yet, there's a strange connection. Who would have thought that the light in Nevada (in an upstairs bedroom) would fit so perfectly with a Macedonian folk song? And yet it does. Well, at least I think the song is Macedonian: the name is in non-Russian Cyrillic. The light is perfect; those chairs are perfect, the colors are delicious and so complex, but they're subtle. This is incredibly well seen, and there's a nicely slippery quality to it that could exist anywhere, and not just Nevada. This is making a trip into my favorites, and don't be surprised if a story comes oozing out.

The light is pure, blindingly white, yet, like an elegant balancing act, it illuminates the objects in a surprisingly subtle way. Of course the light doesn't do this on it's own - it required a perceptive observer. And though I can understand your urge to rearrange the objects in the room, personally I prefer the challenge of photography that takes what it finds & tries to transform it (through composition, camera settings or postwork) into as appealing an image as possible...

I see why you wouls have wanted to move the chairs around. They are places a bit strange :-) But it is a wonderful shot with super light in there.

The light through the window reveals that there is a presence here. Like a scene from a ghost movie. Definitely a story. The bed, the scarf, the desk all speak of a hidden history. Or it could just be a museum exhibit. Fantastic atmosphere.

Lovely. Makes one want to look more into the room. Also, for me, it sets the mind to wandering on what the days were like for the occupant of this room. did they sit in a chair at times and just enjoy the light?

The writing desk intrigues me, as does that very interesting chair. I wonder if any great works of literature were created there. Or perhaps just simple letters to a loved one in far away lands. I would have liked to see the whole room.

It makes me think to my grand mother house in the 1950's.

Beautiful. Peaceful. This looks like a room from a simpler time. One that you could curl up with a good book, relax and forget about troubles. This is the kind of room that you could get a really good nights sleep in. As always, you have captured not only the light, but the feeling of this room. I do believe this is my favorite of all of your work.
