Description
When we arrived in Astoria we were starved and tired from the drive. We pulled over to check availability at a hotel, and it was right on the river, and by Pier 39. The hotels were all sold out :(
We decided to take a walk to stretch our legs and found a restaurant on the Pier, "Rogue Public House". We decided to give it a try. We were on a Fish and Chips mission, since we were traveling along the coast... My husband is a huge fan of Fish and Chips. So just about everywhere we stopped, from Alaska to Oregon, we tried the fish and chips :) (a lot of other yummy food too). Guess what we had for dinner? Yep. Fish and Chips.
To finish my rambling story, when we sat down, the waitress brought us free samples of beer. Yum. I sure wish we had a room for the night, I would have indulged in a whole glass of beer ;) We enjoyed our dinner and free beer sample.
Afterwards, we took a short walk along the river and enjoyed the sunset on the Columbia River (where I took a bunch of photos). Then we had to get back in the car and continue on. Next stop.... Tillamook... where we stayed the night. It was late when we arrived, and then for some crazy reason, I never took a photo in Tillamook. I guess I wasn't impressed with the cows and cheese..lol.

If you ever get to England, you get the best fish and chips in the world, it's one of our staples :) I say ours, but in the main it is cooked by Cypriots and Turks, but they are the best at it. I love the name of that pub, it'd suit me down to the ground :))))
You went to Tillamook and didn't go to the cheese factory? Seriously? Did you go out to Cape Meares and see the lighthouse? The Tillamook Air Museum? No pictures in Tillamook at all? Melinda! You must go back!
I wish we could have, but we were on a time budget. We had to be back in SoCalif in 2 days. Believe me, I wanted to explore...... I definitely want to do the coast again with time on my side :)
Of course, we made some stops along the way South!

I love Astoria - I always block out some time to visit and wander around. I don't remember that Rogue Public House but since Rogue is one of my favorite breweries I will HAVE TO seek it out next time I'm there. Nice shot you've made me hungry and thirsty. Looking forward to some more Astoria shots.
