Description
My 16 year old Jack Russell collapsed with a stroke yesterday. I took him to the vet and we put him to sleep. This is a snapshot of him in my bed before we got in the car to go to the vet. His tail wagged the entire time I tucked him in. He had one last 30min snuggle in my bed with the electric blanket on. That was always his favourite. As he died, I held his paw and told him we were going to get roast chicken. That was also his fave.
The last few days have been just terrible.............

Oh no, I'm SO sorry. I have tears in my eyes because I've had to go thru the same thing. Losing is pet is such a HUGE thing. My son lost his dog last year and I cried all day. What a wonderful foto of him; thank you for sharing this.
So sorry for your loss. These special friends leave such big holes in our hearts when they pass. That said, it's equally true that they fill our hearts so full while they're with us. Remembering you in prayer. God bless.

Oh man, your luck over these last few mate. MY heart grieves for you Andrew. I know what it is like to have those exclusive little companions, my Jazz is a similar dog at 12 years old now, and I am dreading this day.

too bad but he had a home and love in his final hours. my big dog has been staying in the laundry while her head heals and she is liking it too much. when it comes time for her to stay outside, she will complain.

So sorry to learn about this terrible news, they bring so much joy into our lives and we know these moments will come and we would not deny all those years shared for fear of this moment... seven years to every one of ours. We don't get over the loss we can only learn to live with it and remember the good times rather than the last day. Great memories and photographs and special times shared in the memory and heart. My thoughts are with you at this painful time. He seems so peaceful in this capture... bless him in doggy heaven.
