Description
Captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
I'm no expert, but I don't think this one is a kestrel.
I had to severely desaturate the color red in this series because it was so bright that it overwhelmed the rest of the photo. And in the fourth picture, a bratty urchin had been breaking in on his mini lecture so the handler shouted "Go way, kid, you bother me!" So where were the parents?
Cool results in ZOOM.
Farvel.

I like the whole set.
outstanding seriesof photographies !!! superb bird !!!
These shots are just fantastic, Harry; really excellent in every way, from the sharpness and POV to the postwork and the taming of the vicious reds. Superb! And I don't know if it's a kestrell or not, it's some kind of bird of prey...and a lovely one at that!
Those are amazing shots of this bird. You really captured the character of this majestic bird.Nice postwork efforts.
Stunning series of captures really full, of detailing.. You've caught the bird very well and the close up one is by far the best! Rob
Excllent captures of this beautiful falcon!
Zoom brings out the details, and for the bird especially, that is essential. The mix of human and bird and background is in your usual rich fashion. The lineup of the bird with the woman's blue gown---in 1 and 2---is fine. I also like that you got some guy shooting the bird, in shot 1! The configurations of the bird's wings is beautiful, and in closeups, yes, he looks stunning. You have a couple of "head shots" too, 2, 3 and 5---and the fifth is a beautiful detailed portrait of his face. Also, the shot of the guy fending off that kid is pure street photography; and he's composed with the bird fitting right into his profile. A terrific collection, and the bird closeups are uploads on their own. Too bad about the saturation, but you got clarity and vividness regardless. It looks like this faire demanded a lot of your darkroom skills...it's never let you rest.
