Skylar plays with the footfeed more to get a feel of how touchy it is. Soon, he has found the right amount of pressure to apply to prevent traction breaking burnout of the rear tires. He glances over at Reed who is wearing a smile from ear to ear and looks so excited, you would almost think he was peeing in his pants! Skylar glances at the gauges to make sure everything is running alright. The tank is full, thank you Jessie! They head for Interstate 8 and are soon driving eastbound through the hills surrounding San Diego! In the distance, they can see the smokey haze caused by all the fires and on the radio, they hear of some road closures, but nothing regarding I-8. Skylar presses the foot-feed and they instantly jump up to 85 mph. 'Whoa' says Skylar! 'Wanna get me a speeding ticket right away, Eleanor?' Skylar eases Eleanor back down to blend with traffic and sets the cruise. 'Without this cruise, I'm afraid I'd be getting ticket after ticket!' Skylar remarks to Reed. Reed can still only smile back with that big all consuming grin of his! Traffic flows smoothly in the eastbound lanes and soon, they leave San Diego behind them and head out onto the flats. Eleanor indeed purrs like a kitten. A very quiet kitten at road speeds. Reed plugs his i pad into the dash and brings up some of their favorite tunes and the guys spend time listening and visiting as the miles go flowing past them Before they realize it, they are in the sand dunes in eastern California. 'We'll soon be in Yuma.' states Skylar. 'Pull off at the next exit!' says Reed. 'I need to stretch my legs and I want to take a closer look a these dunes.' Shortly, an exit appears and Skylar dutifully pulls off as Reed has requested. They both get out and stretch their legs. Reed stands by the car awhile enjoying the site. Someone before them had taken a walk out into the dunes and left funny tracks in the sand. Skylar looks out at Reed and can't help thinking how lucky he is to have such a good friend.
