Try inverting a color photograph and see what happens! If you've got Photoshop, it couldn't be easier. (Image/Adjustments/Invert) This started as a buff-colored car. I inverted it, applied a smoothing filter, and touched up some chipped paint.
The result reminded me of those Cunard posters from the 30s with their seemingly simple graphics and elegant lines.
I had way too much fun playing with this image. Working on it was my birthday present to myself. :)
Speaking of that ... thanks to everybody who posted images for me and wished me a happy birthday! I've had a terrific day. You're the best! :D

I am not a big fan of the inversion really Tara, but in this case, it looks pretty good. BTW you can get there a lot quicker with CTRL I PC CMD I Mac
Again... to get things like this takes a special eye. Many photographers would walk right by this or be inclined to capture "the whole" scene.

Of course, the 30s were a little before my time, and being such a young lady, I know they were before yours! :-D But now you've made me curious - so I'll have to Google Cunard posters and see what I come up with! Now, if you'd have said 'Mucha...' LOL
