Description
Well, the kids are 5 weeks old here. The change from week to week is amazing. As you can see. they have discovered their wings. I am thrilled with the detail of the wing feathers. I may learn to use this camera yet.

I am about 150 feet or so from the nest, standing on the bluff just above the tree. I have a 400mm lens that I purchased just for these shots. The tree may not last many more years and I want to get as many shots as I can. I love this one. This is the best I have ever captured of the wonderful shades of brown on their wings . Thanks for the compliment and the interest.

Amazing, Bev. You're doing a great job with the camera. As others have noted above, beautiful photo of the feathers texturing - from grey to black and off-white. 5 weeks and already so far developed so they're flapping their wings, discovering how they work. I wonder how long they will stay in the nest before trying to fly out. Hope all goes well! Great going, Bev.
