Description

Well, the kids are 5 weeks old here. The change from week to week is amazing. As you can see. they have discovered their wings. I am thrilled with the detail of the wing feathers. I may learn to use this camera yet.

I am about 150 feet or so from the nest, standing on the bluff just above the tree. I have a 400mm lens that I purchased just for these shots. The tree may not last many more years and I want to get as many shots as I can. I love this one. This is the best I have ever captured of the wonderful shades of brown on their wings . Thanks for the compliment and the interest.

Amazing, Bev. You're doing a great job with the camera. As others have noted above, beautiful photo of the feathers texturing - from grey to black and off-white. 5 weeks and already so far developed so they're flapping their wings, discovering how they work. I wonder how long they will stay in the nest before trying to fly out. Hope all goes well! Great going, Bev. I've had much to do and late days at work so I've had difficulty in keeping up with your posts. So, all the comments came this evening! :-) Have happy, blessed Easter!
