Description
Typical subway passengers. Even here in New York. They are usually on their smartphones. And we are supposed to be a more social society?

hahahahaa Well that looks just like the Netherlands :)) Very nice captured !!
How did we ever survive without mobile phones, oh, that's right, we used to talk to other people. I'm curious, did you take the shot with your cell phone?
I use mine to communicate with my family and friends, read a book, play games, look up information on the internet, check the weather, listen to music, find a restaurant, and take pictures of strangers on the bus. How would it be different if they were all reading or doing a crossword puzzle? Only the tools have changed ... the activities are the same. And ... this is a GREAT shot!!
Wonderful capture. this is the new 'Social Experiment'
Typical scene...everywhere!
LOL.... yes, it the updated version of a book or newspaper!!... typical suburban train travel... allows you to stay safely in your personal space.. a cool candid for sure... they probably don't know you snapped them!
Great shot Mike they were unaware that you took this I think!!
I am so primitive, I still only have a 'dumb' phone. Dosn't stop me from frequently being completely antisocial :-)
the one on the left seems to think someone may look at her texting.wonder what she is hiding
so many everywhere starring at these devices..
cool candid shot can they make a nice cup of coffee :)) ?
This is what human interaction has come to. LOL A few of us a still free of it.
Cell phones & smartphones have definitely changed the way we interact with the world. Seems like the opposite of "be here now" to me. Granted that commuting daily on a subway can be boring & people will look for distractions, I also frequently see people at parks, beaches, etc. ignoring the people & the beauty around them & jabbering or texting away. They are physically in one place, but virtually in a completely different place...
Cool.
"...And we are supposed to be a more social society?..".... yeah, looks like they are a social 'media' society ;o]
