Description
it's hard to believe that this beast is a predator
it looked almost forlorn, surrounded by people at a place it did not want to be.
barn owls (tyto alba) are quite small and really shy, despite the fact that these are presumably captive bred.
have seen them flee on more than one occassion, resulting in crashes, salto's and rolling over, cuz they were tied up.
'heart breaking' actually
(didn't have the heart to use flash at 1st, hence the 'sharpness'. other people were using flash from other distances. was fairly dark at that spot)
TYallSM for your wonderful comments (& fav.s!) on previous pics!!
have a nice weekend!!!

I assume mice know it isn't as harmless as it looks. Very nice shot

Splendid capture !

Yes, with that sad expression, it's most difficult to believe that this demure cutie could ever be a predator. In any case, another one of your spectacular avian shots displayed in this excellent image, Angie.

A beautiful photo and a lovely looking photo. Barn Owls are very common in New Hampshire where we live in the summer months!
