This reminds me of the movie "Signs". In it a young boy sees the animals on fire in the woods. It was an end of the world story.
I think that if reincarnation was proven, there would be major changes to peoples thinking about the environment! If you knew you would come back into this world again after all the damage you had done to it in this lifetime, you would change your attitude to the environment and take better care of your little space. If everyone did that, we could reverse this suicidal spiral we are currently in and bring the wonderful world back to a health state!
