Description
Captured 1/6/14, very early morning, within the comforting and congenial confines of my condominium complex.
A ZOOM would be cool.
After 60+ days of drought, finally getting the promise of some Seattle type weather today, with real rain on the docket. Like previous forecasts, that remains to be seen.
Arrivederci.

I love that bottom one in particular! Like a lot of bats or flying foxes!
early morning with a sun low on horizon...splendid idea ! good capture !
excellent photos !
I really like the shadows in these captures, Harry.
Fantastic capture friend, impressive lighting and textures! Well done! Loved your new Avatar! :-)
Great perspective of shadows in your pics , very long and sharp. Also I like the concrete surface.
looking good. cool textures there too
Fantastic textures, light and shadows. Two great shots!
The pitted concrete makes a superb counterpoint to the long shadows from these lovely lemony leaves, Harry; another round of well-spotted nature art, excellently captured as always!
amazing shadows!! that must have been very early! hope you'll get rain -at night-!!
At the end of another day.. Interesting mate Rob
It's such a pleasure to see your tone-poems made from the simplest things of life. When this went up, I first saw the pock-marks in the concrete: They're in such relief here, and are as much a part of the images as the leaves and their shadows. Your eye is so keen, you find these "little imperfections" as a geological scientist would find geological formations. But, in your shots, they actually become geological formations---in fact they are geological formations, because they're made from the same wear-and-tear that large pocked landscapes are: These are just in miniature. I understand Andrea liking the second one best---because it's nothing but concrete/leaves and shadows. But the top one has that diagonal counterpoint and diagonal shadows; whereas the bottom one rains down from the top (shadows vertical) and unfolds into the little ballet ensemble that you often get in your leaf shots. Also, some of your street/sidewalk closeups have light at the top of the frame that looks as if the sun is settling on earth about 20 feet away. And the light, though bleached by the southwest early-morning, is filled with subtle golds, pinks and yellows. Just lovely, and strong. And the long crack in no. 2 gives is like a long river breaking through the landscape. LA has to be happy to have a chronicler like you.
