Description
On our recent return trip to Florida, we had the honor of visiting the National Museum of the Marine Corps, just 36 miles (58 km) south of Washington, DC. It seemed to be part of the100 square mile Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia but outside the fence. The glass sail on top of the museum is all you can see from the I-95 interstate and you will only get a good look in the winter when there are no leaves on the trees.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Architecture to me is always interesting and this one is no exception and a fine presentation Dana, in fact I actually like the 'naked' tree look here, it compliments this image. BB
what a condign architecture and picture for the marine corps! ... and thank you very much for explications about the heron/egret, good to know it for me!
Very nice capture!
Great capture and information Dana. This is a 'must see' for me!
Impressive looking structure, I like how the "sail" resembles a ships prow, very Marine-ish ! ~Cheers~
Superbe architecture... ce bâtiment est tout simplement génial !!!
