Description

I managed to do a couple of hours in the garden yesterday, clearing the crocosmia leaves which were lying around over the emerging spring growth. I uncovered this snoozing toad in the fernery and covered him up again quickly. The woodlouse on his back is safe for the moment!

Amazing texture/bump pattern & the lighting makes him look like he's been silver-plated. Great shot...

Awesome contrast in this image of nature at its most bizarre, in this capital capture of the toad, warts and all, plus its little passengers. I wonder if the amphibian is sleeping because it feels so lousey.

What a handsome critter! Wonderful clarity and color. We have little tree frogs living in our ivy beds. You can hear them croaking as you walk past. Sometimes I will croak back and they will stop briefly before resuming their conversation. Probably think I'm rude for butting in.

What a handsome fat toad! Wonderful bug eater to have in the garden. We have gazillions of toads at the Hollow, and the dogs learn quite fast they taste horrid! Leya has not tried one yet.

The light play across it's back is FANTASTIC! It could be polished bronze or oil in a rainy puddle SUPERB!
