Description
Clematis cirrhosa var. 'purpurascens Freckles'
This evergreen hardy clematis is in full flower now, November to February.
I never have a day without some sort of bloom in my garden, so if a hungry bumble wakes up on a sunny winters day there is always food!

Ooh, I've never seen that one, what an exotic looking beauty!
Love this variety, but have had little successes with it. Mind died after getting a mere 3 feet tall.
Wonderful capture and I love the colour of this Clematis... reminds me of the old artist toothbrush technique on a white surface. Lovely shot.. great to see colour on dark cold days.
Nice flower and excellent capture!!
Excellent photography.
OH WOW! A winter clematis. It looks quite lovely. Wonderful close up.
Super sharp and a lovely flower.
Superb pic of this gorgeous bloom, a species new to my ancient eyes.
Very beautiful flower
That's just gorgeous. I'm so envious of your mild climate, getting things to bloom year round! This is a spectacular variety. Wowser!
Wow. Blooms in winter! the only blooms I have in winter would be my cyclamen in the house. Everything in my garden either dies or goes dormant over winter. I do envy you for year 'round blooms in the garden!
Oh i love this one what a beauty and never seen one like this must be a rare one.
