Description
Testing out an OBJ and maps I purchased from Ten24 (was originally a part of a modo tutorial) to see how close I could get to realistic skin in Poser using a very simple node setup as opposed to the other node options out there. Simple scene with three raytraced lights (one white infinite, one pale yellow spotlight and one pale blue spotlight), a simple backdrop I made in silo and indirect lighting. There's just one custom Scatter node and that's it. Everything else is plugged directly into the main material channels.

Wow! Fantastic! Looks very realistic! Very nice work!
Thanks. Most of the credit goes to the folks at Ten24. I just plugged the textures in hoping to get something useable. :)
Very nice! Been a long time since I cracked open Poser.
Thanks! :) Glad you like it.
Most excellent!
Thanks! :)

Thank you!
perfect photo realistic face with excellent skin texture, morphs and expression
Stunning
Very nice work! The skin looks wonderful here. I'm absolutely inspired by what you've achieved in terms of Firefly render quality. Just to let you know, good performance in this light is somewhat independent of the materials. Especially with textures that have this much burned in artifacts. I just say it because I've had shaders that performed wonderfully way back in P7 with ambient white light like this, but directional, colored medium light (not dark, that's also kind of easy if you don't mind the loss of gamut from not using true sRGB) has been consistently trickier. In my experience, skin shaders need to be tested in multiple light situations without any adjustments, and using textures that have few to no burned in shadows, occlusion areas, highlights, or scattering effects (like backscattering on ears or nose) to really see how they perform.
Agreed. That's exactly what I did. I did a test with this light setup. Then I did another test with the default lights and then another with IBL. The skin held up in all cases. I was pretty pleased. I believe a big factor is the quality of the maps. These have almost no specular highlights to them - the Ten 24 folks have some cool lighting setups. If you get the chance you should check out the file. It's part of a modo tutorial on their site and well worth grabbing just for a glimpse at the textures :)
very nice work mr. T.
Excellent job!
