Description
Ivy flowers and Mahonia are very important food sources in the winter,
We still have a few Bumblebees too when the sun is out, even when it is very cold.

Lovely shot. There must be some sustenance in there. I don't know if I am the only one but I am not getting email notifications from Rendo. I have to trawl through 'Whats New' to find new postings!!
Fantastic shot and DOF!
Nice shot.
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Beautiful! Hubby made a bird house for on the garden shed, it has three nesting spots. the top one has been home for wasps almost from the day it went up. The two bottom ones are always occupied by house sparrows.
Excellent. I have not seen any in London now in the last couple weeks. Not even a fly. But then the developers seem to have wanted it that way. We live in a building site. Can't wait to hear about Bedfordshire.
Excellent capture, I'm not a massive fan of wasps and remind me why I have to carry an epen. They do serve a purpose and eat certain garden pests. Nests are an amazing feat of design, surprised to see them around although it is quite mild out at times.
Superb macro. Very good close up.
Fantastic image! Great details! :)
Lovely sharp macro.
WOW a great find and shot Andrea. Love it. !
Stellar capture of a lot of natural activity, A.
Wasps and hornets do not occupy a high rung of insects that I like, having been stung by the little buggers too many times though I have to say that this is a fantastic capture
Frighteningly close! I hear these guys can be quite cranky. The detail is amazing. Superb image.
