Description
Sawyer Glacier
The blue color in icebergs and glaciers is due to the reflection and scattering of blue light. If I am understanding what I heard and read, the red light is absorbed and the blue light is the only color reflected. This phenomenon is called the "Tyndall Effect" also referred to as Rayleigh Scattering. The deeper the light travels in the ice, the darker the blue. And that is what I know about the color of glaciers.
More compositions to come.
Have a great night/day :)

Superb capture. Thank you for sharing the information as well. God bless.
Splendid capture!
Beautiful, there are so many different shades of blue in this and the explanation was really good too
What a fantastic shot Melinda!!!!!!!
Dramatic shot - excellent...
Oh my, your knowledge of colors and lighting is beyond remarkable, Melinda. Splendid capture of the glacier and the freezing water. The glacier effects remind me of the ice cream that I like to scoop out of my quart containers.
