Description

On this day of days, here is an example of why we we should respect and honor our Armed Forces both past and present.. For those who have fallen....I bow my head in deep respect.. (Taken at Duxford, in the Airborne Forces Museum..Also there..) Rob

We must never forget the courage and the supreme sacrifice our armed forces make day in day out, and today is that day when we should fall silent for those like Corporal Bryan James Budd who made the supreme sacrifice with his courage and excellent leadership. Putting aside those who disagree with war and the fact politicians send soldiers out on virtual death missions whilst they sit in the comfort of their cabinet offices wearing expensive suits and sipping expensive alcohol. The soldiers know they have our support no matter where they go to fight even if most of the time the politicians certainly don't deserve it for the decisions they often make that may cost these brave soldiers their lives. Lest we forget.

So many taken too soon... yet so many "yahoo's" today fail to grasp the true meaning of this time of remembrance with noisy and disrespectful behavior.... As a totally and permanently disabled veteran myself, I fall silent around this time every year as my mind enters a surreal minefield... like walking on eggshells... I recall so much, and so many that haunt my memories. - R.I.P. all my precious bands of brothers... all those still living; stand tall and carry on with pride for your service for God and Country.

Rob, this is a very thoughtful dedication to a true hero. We need to pay our respects to those who serve our country every chance we get and realize they are making these sacrifices for all of us. Sadly we lose the best among us like this while the worst among us (serve) us in political office.

A remarkable line up. This was a truly remarkable young man. I see things like this and become more and more convinced that those who "serve" in national governments need to have the experience of serving in uniform themselves personally or by nearness of marriage or by having children serving. No more riding on the coattails of past generations: earn the right to serve in national office. A Weesel hand-salute! two! to this young man, and a Weesel high-five to the photographer.

More than worth the VC. A big thanks to all the lads and lassies who put their lives on the line of the rest of us! They should all have jobs and be given homes for their service.

A great image of the medals, none of which I can identify, but certainly deserved by this gallant trooper in the heat of battle, mate. Most appropriate for Veteran's Day.

Thanks for showing us this, Rob. Like someone said, today's young people have no idea of what went into giving them the life they have today. God help us if we ever have to rely on today's lot in the heat of battle. Corporal Budd's valour is awe inspiring. rat.

A most moving and heart-wrenching dedication, Rob! This is a brilliant example of the selfless sacrifice and bravery of those who fight to keep the forces of darkness at bay. We must remember and honor the memory of Corp. Budd and all those who have fallen to keep us free - not just today, but always.
