Description
We're visiting friends who live on a small air field in central Arizona. Apparently it's a popular place for many flying things! Here are two vanessa cardui, one colias cesonia, and ... ummm ... some sort of bee or hoverfly. Sorry about the vague ID. Figuring out two butterfly IDs was about my limit for critters, and I had no idea where to start with their smaller companion.
My friend has a lovely bushy desert aster at the end of her house, and it was covered in winged things today! I was thrilled to get a few good shots, since I've heretofore been spectacularly unsuccessful with the genre.
I took about 120 pictures of butterflies today, but narrowed it down to just a few. And yes, I'm going to show you more! I'm giddy with success. LOL! :)
