Description
Some people have asked about this technique using different frames so here are a set of quick and dirty images used as a reference for the process resulting in the final piece that you can see in my gallery. It's actually quite simple in practice but you do need complete darkness or else any light beyond that which you require will bleed into the scene, that includes light coming from the cameras screen, I did forget to turn it off. If you cannot do so then cover it up with a piece of card. Of course all this can be done so much easier with a digital slr or a different compact camera which allows you some degree of manual adjustment to the shutter speed and so forth. If you think you cannot paint with light using your camera then simply check pre-sets, there may be a pre-set that allows you a selection of shutter speeds such as for fireworks, starry night or simply night photography. Of course it's possible to do this without even using the camera but that defeats the projects purpose, of course it can be done outdoors where you can become really creative along with video too.
