Next month is NaNoWriMo, and after years of thinking about it and never actually doing it, have decided to finally have a go.
Couple of years ago, I did a creative writing course. One of the assignments I did was a science fiction short story, set in a dystopian near future with pervasive government surveillance, corruption, and financial ruin (so as it turns out, not that dystopian or even in the future). The only free communication medium is clandestine radio.
As part of the project, I came up with this fake 'old school' radio, based on various types of Grundig Concert Boy shortwave radios, the ones with all that glorious chrome and fake wood effects. It is owned (illegally, of course) by the main protagonist and her father.
Not sure how far I'll go, 50000 words is quite a lot, but it's worth a try.

Great looking radio and a fun idea for NaNoWriMo. I've participated three times (well it will be three counting this year).... didn't manage it my 1st time, but I did it last go around. Its a fantastic experience that you won't regret! As for the image --very retro, and very well done!

Nice modelling, Mark - reminds me of a Grundig radio my parents used to have, back when I was growing up in the UK. Not identical, but several of those features. Good luck with NaNoWriMo.
