Description
After a great dinner at our favorite restaurant on the entire Oregon coast - Anna's By The Sea in Gold Beach, which features Nouvelle Canadian Prairie Cuisine - we drove north & were treated to one of the most spectacularly beautiful sunsets we've ever seen. I stopped at various points to take photos, but didn't have a tripod with me (I rarely use mine) & my photos don't do justice to the beauty of it, but I'm happy enough with them to post a few. They were all taken from the highway above Nesika Beach, which starts about 5 miles north of Gold Beach & continues for several miles.
This is the first of them. I shot this one with my camera's "expressive mode", which intensified the colors nicely, but also caused the foreground to become a pure black silhouette. I was able to come up with a way to correct for that in the next photo which I will post tomorrow...

Gorgeous sunset & photo of it! So, what is "Nouvelle Canadian Prairie Cuisine?" Does it include fricassee of prairie dog?? Maybe French-fried cow pie??
I don't really know how to describe what "Nouvelle Canadian Prairie Cuisine" is, I just know that I like it (google "prairie cuisine" to get a rough idea). Anna's is a very small restaurant - just 4 tables & a small counter - run by two men who prepare the food with a lot of care right in front of you. Everything is fresh & tasty & they have a very nice assortment of cheeses & wines. And on Fridays they have live music.
