I think this one works better in colour: the fuller face has too few wrinkles for a really good black and white!

He has a very cool smile kinda cat like great capture.
Nice shot!
Great facial expression captured here.
I do like both but I think the mono is the better.
Beautiful portrait. Very well done
I love B/W in the portraits! Great shot! :)
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
He looks like a happy fellow :-) Very fine portrait :)
Brilliant Andrea, It was our Daughters dog a Beagle hound, which made it very hard work wherever we went,
A jolly fella!!!
Nicely caught!
Long live B&W nice portrait.
Stellar portrait of the big guy, A.
I like the monotone better, I think; it makes him seem a bit edgier. Great portrait!
I agree ... the color version is somehow more "HIM." :) Nicely done!
Wonderful portrait
I do prefer the B&W shot myself!
B&W does indeed work so well with portraits, although I think many photographers shoot in colour, even going back before digital camera's they would shoot in colour and then often choose B&W because it's not easy to colour a B&W photograph although today it can be done very well indeed, back in the older days they were often hand tinted.
He looks a man who knows about food! Great portrait!
What's that they say about judging a book by its cover? The first word that came to mind when I saw this was 'Rugby'. He seems like quite a solid fellow. I think you are right about the wrinkles but the black and white enhances the shadows and all the little details. A wonderful portrait.
I liked the color version better also and a very happy chap!
