Description
Scoliopteryx libatrix.
A lovely surprise disturbed while mowing.
I have a few wild salix saplings in my plot, which may account for the presence of this. The larvae eat willow, and also poplar and aspen of which I have none.

Scoliopteryx libatrix? Oh come on, Andrea, I can tell a discarded and chewed up old wool pullover cap when I see it. Was pretty when it was new.
Looks like a stealth configuration. Reminds me of the B-2 bomber. Lovely image.
