Description
The "art" of aerial refueling is a truly fascinating operation. The skill involved in it seems to me to be like an aerial ballet of minute observations and action/reaction. No time for inattention would be the least you could say.
This is was very much an exercise about terrains. This one is an enormous complex. I've been experimenting with using DEM maps of actual terrains to accomplish it. Still a bit too soft for my taste in some instances. Then there is the combination of materials to get the right look and scale. It's worth it though. SO much in Vue, I try not to think about it.

Hey Bill..nice looking image..as always you have the touch in making planes look natural in the air! Always like this Flanker model..will have to check it out.
mighty sweet image, bubba! I would imagine the Russians have some fairly Sierra Hotel aviators.... we may get to dance with 'em yet!
It can be a lot of work and head scratching but it's so worth it when it all comes together. Excellent image Bill.
Great looking scene. Good work on the terrain and the aircraft placement.
Great picture.
OK, Vuespeak is a foreign language to me... but what ever you did resulted in a very fine render...Excellent work.
Beautiful! It is fun to go to YouTube and watch the videos filmed by the boom operators of aerial tankers.
Nice, good details. You Vued it very well.
outstanding work!!
Looks great, get what you mean about the terrain, but the whole sweep of the vista looks excellent- nice to see different airforces refuelling too
the terrain looks great as is another 5 Star piece of art work ...
