Description
hello folks on this 6th day of aug...can't believe how quick the year is getting away.
I was out tending to the garden and I noticed the baby sitting on the hole...it heard me and was curious...it just sat there and watched me for a while...I grabbed my aways on hand camera, not the good one, that I always have with me and I snapped a few shots. this is not the best I got but I liked the bird sitting there in the hole. please realize the scale of this. i'm sure most of you know chain link fence and you can see the fence and how tiny to house, hole and and baby are compared to one link...and the baby fuss on its head. I headed away for a minute and when I returned it was sitting on the fence inside a link and continued to watch me. I walked away agin and I could see it hoping in the grass with concerned parent touting at it. the continued and it hopped down to the back of my property...it did fly a bit so i'm sure it flew before darkness fell. that's the second litter out of that box. but that was the only baby. I cleaned the box this a.m. i'm pretty sure the dead baby blue bird was killed by these birds. it seems natural that animals/people/beings just want to harm each other out of what 'fear' of each other...it amazes me. anyway...happy times. I wish another small bird would take up in there but I guess mating season is over for them. I had 2 gold finches just playing so joyfully around the sunflowers yesterday evening as well. that was a sight with there bright yellow and black...they where just flying around the sunflowers in circles after each other landing occasionally on a leaf then back at it for about 1 minutes...I was inside by then watching out the window...well have a happy time...

cute baby bird. larger birds prey on smaller ones to eat as food. law of the jungle but seems barbaric
