Description
This gentleman was hoping for Chub or Roach. Fritz was hoping he had left his bait box open...he is the only dog I have had who has stolen a mouthful of live maggots.
How hungry do you have to be?
The close season is over (15th March to 15 th June) so we must all muck along as pleasantly as possible.

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
What a beautiful calm scene.
Ahh the life, very cool shot.
Wonderful composition in this beautiful and peaceful scene. And let's not be too judgmental. After all, none of us know what maggots taste like (I hope).
that is the thing that appeals to me about fishing, sitting in a tranquil spot, musing on he meaning of life, if a fish decides to attach itself to my hook all well and good, and if it doesn't, who cares.
A lovely peaceful spot, Yuk Fritz :o(
A timeless shot, beautifully composed and taken.
Such a serene picture :)
A beautiful shot, brings back fond memories when I was younger fishing with my late father on those hot summers we had every year in the 70's.. those were halcyon days, when Jack Hargreaves was on UK TV with Out of Town, wish we had digital photography in those days because I would have some fine specimens to show.. I got some photographs but not half as many as I would have liked for those times. I remember the bait box being open and the robin's came and perched on the side having a dip in there, I often threw the birds a few on the bank. It was as much about the wild life as the fishing. Is this a pond or river section, you mentioned chub so a shot in the dark is it may be a river?.
It is the River Stour Dorset. One of many Stours in England!
Peaceful and relaxing capture
This is like a Constable painting. I love it. I also love fishing, and I must be a big softeeee cos I put back 95% of everything I catch. I only keep what I am going to eat that night.
Nice tranquil scene, but a dog taking a mouthful of maggots cracks me up!
Great catch..maybe better than the fishing!
Love;ly scene encapsulating the spirit of fishing...I've a son who loves the sport
I hope he caught some fish Beautiful picture!!!!!!!!!!
Muck along....am I reading that right? The only muck that I'm familiar with has something to do with muck and mire. Fine foto of the solitary fisherman hoping to land something edible, A.
Takes me back, though on the Dorset Stour, I'd be after those barbel :)
Very cool and beautiful shot. a most tranquil scene. I don't even want to know about Fritz with maggots......
I used to do a bit of fishing I must find time to do it again, and I used to know a fisherman who sucked on maggots.
Such a pleasant pastime. I would go without the fishing gear, though. :P
A fantastic capture of this guy.
Yes, like Tara I'd just be happy to sit there and enjoy the atmosphere; such a peaceful and lovely scene!
OH! That is something I could cope :-D Wonderful shot Andrea :)
It is a well captured scene and a truly peaceful spot to sit and ponder life!!!!
