Description

Zan’s Prehistoric World Narrative: Zan sat on the bunk and was swallowed by grief. After a brief treatment for some frostbite on his face he had been brought here to this cell. It had been over 24 hours now and no one had brought him food or water. There was not even a bathroom in this cell. Zan realized he must be the worst criminal ever and didn’t even deserve the very basic requirements of life. There was a knock on the door and a man entered the room. “It has been 24 hours and you have not taken food or water,” the man said. “Yes Sir, I’m not complaining. Am I to be executed now?” Zan asked. “May I use the bathroom first? I don’t want everyone to see me wet myself.” The man looked around at the room and realized how the boy had arrived at such a grisly conclusion. The room was, to a boy, a small metal box that probably resembled what he thought a prison cell looked like. “Son,” the man began, “My name is Commander Reox and you are aboard the Battleship Alopex. This is not a prison cell, and you are not going to be executed, or sent to prison. This is the V.I.P. quarters.” Zan was confused. The Commander realized that no one had spoke with the boy since the incident. “There is no easy way to put this son, but, your brother is in very serious condition. He has lost both his legs and arms, he is blind, his lungs are completely destroyed, and a number of his other organs have shut down,” the Commander explained bleakly to Zan. “Will he die?” Zan began to sob uncontrollably. The Commander smiled grimly, “The Lady Serine sent her personal Dart Ship and your brother, as of this morning, is in route to the Acute Genetic Trauma Surgical Center on Amphi Prime. Also, the finest genetic surgeon in the known universe, Dr. Kurmaraja, is on his way.” It took Zan a moment to register this. “Lady Serine, you mean my Grandmother from Kitsune Prime, and Lord Kurmaraja, my Grandfather Turtle. But, he’s on Terra Prime right now. That’s two years away,” said Zan. The mystery of why the entire Alliance of Worlds was converging on his ship was quickly becoming apparent. These two boys were the heirs to the largest most powerful House in the Alliance. Shaking his head the Commander explained, “No, it will only take your grandfather three months to arrive. The moment the news broadcast was received on Terra Prime, Lord Night came out of hiding. Apparently Lord Night secretly had a relay of Dart Ships set up across the galaxy. Lord Night made the Dart Ships available to your grandfather.” The Commander stood, “During those three months, as I’ve been told, there is an army of geneticists and surgeons that will begin preparing your brother for surgery and growing new organs and limbs in the gene tanks. Your brother is in very serious condition, but there are many people that are working to save him. Now, we need to worry about you.” The Commander stepped toward the door and motioned for Zan to follow, “There are a lot of people that want to meet you.” Zan followed the Commander and stepped into the hall. It seemed that hundreds of people were lining the walls. All turned to him and saluted. Two Demons stepped forward and knelt before Zan, “You have brought honor upon the name of all demon kind.” They held up a reddish-gold medal. “We are honored to present you with Demonia’s Highest Medal, only 23 demons have ever received it in the history of our people, you are the 24th, We present you with the ‘The Flame of Demonia.”

I'm happy for Zan, sometimes you have to break the rules to do the right thing. But, poor Zam - let's not kill off my favorite character yet - he's only a youngin.

Cool story and picture. But if this is the VIP room i'd hate to see economy class.

I'm hoping that 'Zan's Prehistoric World' was just a typo. I'd really hate to see my favorite dinosaur-snack get ousted.

You're giving me another case of goose bumps and a tremendous heart-swelling pride in this little character. They may be called Mischief and Malice but I call them Marvelous!

So right GrandmaT, not since Huck and Tom have I felt so connected with fantasy - remarkable and amazing!! Don't ever stop, may be different characters, places and settings or whatever but you have a talent that is so lacking in the present world!! I envy your wondrous imagination!!!!
