Description

This Solvsbergite Mamelon can be found in central Victoria Australia. It was formed when lava erupted through a narrow vent in the bedrock. Instead of running away, the stiff lava congealed around the vent. Please zoom for a better look. Photographed in natural light.

Some very interesting colors at the base of the middle formation and I like the cracking patterns on the right formation. Strange that it didn't flow into a flat area!
