Description
I took this under lousy lighting conditions, but since the only opportunity that I've had to get a shot of this species it will have to do til I see another one. I thought it was still good enough to share,

What a great closeup of this handsome bird! Well done!
Oh how wonderful this shot is!! Great image.
Nice catch! So close up... well done.
They can be tough to capture, often elusive, they can be pretty territorial. if you get a piece of wood and mimic the pecking sound by banging the piece of wood on the trunk they will appear to see what's happening it would usually be another male challenging his territory. Nice capture here.
What an extraordinary name! A superb photo.
It certainly is good enough to share - lovely shot.
Very nice! A friend of mine has been photographing one extensively on his acreage and I was going to go to his place this morning to try as well, but I was rained out!
