Description
This photo needs some explanation because it was the result of an unusual situation.
It started when I found a dead insect in a spider's web. At first glance I thought it was a Damselfly but Damselflies do not hold their wings flat to the side. They hold them raised over their backs but since it was (dead in a web) I thought that might explain this anomaly.
It also resembled an Antlion but Antlions have long antenna and this did not. It was also noticeably smaller than the Antlions I have seen before.
It was found in a very shady spot so to take a photo with better light, I moved it.
Nearby were the stumps of some dead Dogwood trees so I placed the remains on one of these stumps and took some shots.
After downloading the images, I examined them closely and decided it was indeed an Antlion who's antenna were missing.
While editing the image for posting I needed a title so I chose the one I did because it described not only the insect but the Dogwood stump as well. Both were dead and I only took a picture of "All that remains".
On a side note - in yesterdays comments, Kgb224 expressed an interest in seeing one of my Images which (I mentioned) showed one dragonfly eating another. I looked thru my gallery and found an image of a male Eastern Pondhawk eating a male Eastern Amberwing. See it on page 29 of my gallery.
I have not been successful with adding a link to it and I could not find a way to use the link Kgb224 provided to me for a related image in his gallery, I had to skim thru his gallery to find it
UPDATE: With the gracious help of Photomark, Meisiekind, and auntietk, I think I have figured out how to do this so here goes.........

I could not find the one you mentioned on page 29 but on page 27 of your gallery there is a similar shot.
It has become clear me after the fact that using a page number to locate a particular image is not a very good method. It seems the page number of a specific image is determined by which option everyone chooses regarding how many images to show on each page. I do not know how to post a valid link to any specific images images in my gallery but I know others do this. Maybe someone will be able to explain it to me. Lee
