Lovely capture, nicely done
Great shot
One man & his dog...Spot. We used to drive parents mad singing that :o)
Great capture!!!
Excellent shot! :)
Nice shot of the hay mowing machine as it dutifully levels the field, A, but I would be sneezing endlessly if I was standing out there, as a result of all that activity.
Looks like a good crop and I only made it to "Four men went to mow"!!!!!
And it used to be people with scythes getting all dusty and sweaty...I would imagine the dust and sweat are still there, along with the petrol fumes. Excellent capture!!
lol, makes me want to sneeze!!
So evocative! I'll skip the song, as I already have enough crap in my head that drives me crazy!
Technically the mowing's is finished, this guys woofling It ( turning It ) ready for bailing, If you need to learn some farming terms and have a laugh read some books by Henry Brewis.
Love working tractor shots!
Love that word that Alan gave us..Woofling!
Great shot of this farmer and we have a lot of that going on around here with all the horses that everyone owns.
A great food source and stash for the leaner periods of the year ... for lots of animals, and I love the smell of freshly cut hay, so organic, marvellous - BB
i can smell that field from here, childhood re-visited for me also
That is an annoying song in the same area as "In the quarter masters stores" But we loved to sing them as kids eh? Nice shot BTW!
GREAT SHOT
I hadn't heard that song before. I only got to "4 men went to mow" too. Our song for driving our parents mad was "99 bottles of beer on the wall." The other one (as we sang it) was: Around the corner And under a tree A sergeant major Said this to me Who would marry you This I'd like to know Cause every time I see your face It makes me want to go Around the corner (cont. ad nauseam) I really love this image! I love the simple composition and strong lines, the slight haze of the kicked up grain, and way it makes me think of peaceful and lazy countryside days. This shows that I was the one walking by and seeing the farmer in the field, not actually doing any work myself. Beautiful capture!
