Description
This is a male Common Whitetail. The white on his tail is the result of a waxy excretion they produce at maturity.
This species likes to perch on the ground or on flat surfaces although this one is not doing so in this photo.
This is a dragonfly I can identify at 100' distance because of the distinctive white tail, lol.
