The idea originally came to me as "Little Sister" inspired by the Dwight Yoakam song, and ended up as the Stevie Ray Vaughan "Look At Little Sister." Both excellent songs, though I should have done more a bit of a wild child dancing in the bar for this. The scene: Kate sees who she thinks is her older sisters old boyfriend, Jim, and walks over to investigate. As she got up close, she realizes it is, so she decides a little surprise might be in order. Now Kate looks nothing like she did back then, she's grown up - quite nicely too. Jim looks much the same, just a little pale as his job normally keeps him out of the sun and indoors. "Jim, is that you?" Kate exclaimed. Jim is caught a bit off guard, he is more than taken by such a gorgeous creature standing before him. "Jim, it's Kate, Debbie's little sister." Jim, still awestruck manages to utter, "Oh my God, you've certainly grown up little sister." Kate smiles as says, "It's been a while Jim, of course I have." "You still look pretty much the same, but I'd say you don't get out much anymore since you lost that tan you used to have when you dated my sister." "Yeah, my job keeps me quite busy and well away from the daylight" said Jim. "The pay is good though, but enough about my job, I'm surprised you remember me, it was a few years ago when I went out with your sister, and you were quite young." Kate said, "Yeah, I guess I was a little young then, but I'm 19 now." As Jim reached for the ketchup, Kate asked if she might sit down for a minute. Jim agrees, she should take a seat, he's more than interested to hear how it is she managed to remember him. Jim asked a couple questions about her older sister, but then prodded her about how it is she remembered him. "Well," Kate said, "My sister always spoke very well of you, in many ways too." Jim was really a bit intrigued now, then suddenly Kate tossed out there, "Strange as it is, I had a dream about you the other night. You know last Friday when it was so hot; our a/c was on the fritz and I was so sweaty and hot" All the sudden, that bottle of ketchup in Jim's hand went off, as you could only imagine. Kate immediately burst into laughter, and Jim instantly blushed. They both paused for a moment gazing at each other when suddenly the cashier paged Kate for her order. "I have to go Jim, but it was really enjoyable, and a bit entertaining to run into you again. Oh, I still live at my folks if you're interested in looking me up sometime. If you're thinking about it, I say yes. ....to going out! Maybe something else too, in time; we'll see." With that, Jim expressed his appreciation that she went out of her way to chat, apologized for the ketchup, and let it be known that he would definitely be looking her up soon too.
